1. What is your process?
Step 1: It starts with the initial phone call that may take 15-20 minutes where we will discuss a needs assessment.
Step 2: In-Home Consultation. This may not be necessary for all projects. We will determine this during our initial conversation. Consultations are billed at $60/hr and typically last an hour.
Step 3: Project Planning. We will discuss your goals and wishes and together we will develop a custom plan that works for you and your time frame. I will provide a rough estimate on how long it may take to reach our goal. You will sign a service agreement with expectations and fees clearly stated and off we go.
Step 4: We will schedule or first session and follow our agreed upon plan of action until we have reached our goal and the project is complete.
2. How long does it take to get organized?
This is a tricky question because there are many factors that determine how long each project may take. It all depends on the size of the space and how much “stuff” we are organizing as well as how easily you make decisions. Other factors like your availability, budget, motivation and emotions can affect our progress as well. Rest assured, I have plenty of energy but I will work at your pace and comfort level.
I can say that you will start to see results after our first session.
Here is a rough estimate on length of project by room:
Kitchen – 6-8 hrs
Bedroom – 8-10 hrs
Closets – 6-8 hrs
Office – 4-8 hrs
Garage -8-10 hrs
Basement/Attic – 10-12 hrs
3. I have tried to get organized. How will this be different?
Sometimes a new prospective and fresh approach can provide that spark you need to try again. We can discuss why you think it didn’t work before and plan a course of action accordingly. Organizing is not always a once-and-done project. Habits may have to change to keep your space in an organized fashion.
4. Will you make me throw stuff away?
Definitely not! It is not my goal to make you purge all of your belongings. You determine what you keep and I can help provide storage options that will work for you. Although, I will encourage you to let go of what you no longer need or value.
5. What happens to those items I want to discard?
I highly encourage sustainable practices: donating to charities of your choice, recycling items properly, and disposing of hazardous material responsibly. Smaller donations I can remove and disperse accordingly. For larger donations, I can provide a complete list of resources.
6. Will I work directly with you?
That’s entirely up to you. We will establish this during the project planning step. We can work side by side during our sessions or you can provide me with specific guidelines and I can work independently. Understand that if I work on my own, I may assign “homework” for you to complete to help us meet our goals.
7. Are you insured?
Yes, I carry business liability insurance.
8. What are your rates?
In-person organizing is $60.00 per hour.
Virtual organizing is $40.00 per hour
Discount packages for in-person organizing:
10 hour package – $570.00( -5%)
20 hour package – $ 1080.00 (-10%)
